Ector County has an unusual shape to it from a water perspective. Odessa itself is served by municipal supply, but a large share of the county’s housing sits outside the city limits in unincorporated areas. West Odessa is the most notable, and it is substantial and residential rather than remote ranchland.
That produces a different pattern of work than you’d find in a purely rural county.
